Guillaume was born in Orthez, a French market town tucked at the foot of the Pyrénées and less than an hour away from the Atlantic coast, where he was educated up to his Baccalauréat. He studied Law at the University of Pau before carrying on at the University of Bordeaux to complete a degree in Business Law with a specialisation in Property Law. During his studies he already had extensive experience gained in notaires practices and noticed that English speaking clients could sometimes be better advised.
In 2004, he decided to cross the Channel to Cheltenham where he joined Nick Hutchinson & Co to set up and head the French Property Department. In 2007, he passed a Master’s Degree in Law & Wealth Management at the University of Rennes in Brittany.
Back in Cheltenham, he founded Barlets, his own practice, until he joined BHIM in December 2008 as he realised how complementary BHIM’s financial skills were with his legal services.
Guillaume is playing basketball in the Gloucestershire League and is a member of the “Franco-British Lawyers Society”.
